We are humans, and we have our limits. It’s difficult to take charge of every aspect of your life, if not impossible. You can’t be perfect in everything. You’ll definitely have your hard and soft spots.
This, however, doesn’t mean you should totally leave achieving your dreams to luck and chance, while you take on whatever comes your way. There are aspects of your life you must set some boundaries and never let anyone dictate for you in order to be the best you can be.
Ability to do this alone will pave the way for more chances of being successful because it’ll help you care less about what is trendy amongst others, and more on what is best for you.
Below are 3 Things To Take Charge Of To Really Rock Your Life
1. Your Mind
Your mind is the control unit of your whole life; what you think, you become.
As it’s said, whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right; it all lies in your mindset.
Every now and then, we hear the saying —Take charge of your mind to take charge of life.
Most people, however, don’t to seem to give much credit to this saying. They fill their minds with negativity and hope to achieve positive results.
The fact, however, is that it’s more like garbage in, garbage out. What you feed your mind is what you get out of it.
Your life is shaped by what you think, what you believe, and the subtle habits you exhibit – all these lie in your mindset.
The mindset is the major thing that draws a line of difference between the successful billionaires and the average men. A successful man thinks…
Yeah, I will be successful. I can achieve anything I want with sheer hard work. I’m only one step away. This is the idea that’ll change my life.
After putting in the effort, this, in turn, becomes their reality.
An average man, however, thinks…
I’ll probably die a poor man. Will I even make it through today? How the heck do people acquire so much money and luxuries? Are there really new ideas left?
With time, these sought of thoughts will subconsciously take charge of your life and sabotage your chances of succeeding.
Most people who exhibit the average man mindset are, in turn, often hesitant to grab new opportunities, talk more of putting new ideas to test because they’ve already been programmed to believe that…
It just will never work out. Period.
With this mindset, it becomes impossible to birth new ideas, and to move to the next level becomes a matter of Will I? Instead of When Will I?.
Your mind has so much power to influence what your future holds.
Hence, seize every opportunity to occupy your mind with positivity to really watch your life take a good turn.
2. Your Personality and Lifestyle
The things you do and the habitual way you do them can impact positively or negatively on your life and career.
Personality and lifestyle differ by persons. Some people would rather choose a minimal lifestyle over a classy lifestyle and vice versa.
Either way, always be on top of your game and only pursue a lifestyle that takes you closer to achieving your goals, not necessarily the trendy lifestyle.
Also, don’t pick a lifestyle simply in suits your “comfort level.”
Like it’ said, comfort kills.
In order to avoid career stagnancy and to make remarkable achievements in life, you must be willing to step out of your comfort zone and do stuffs that are rather stressful every now and then.
Sure, living your dream life is mainly about doing things you love and at your own convenience. Till then, however, you have to suck up some discomfort. Always remember, nothing good comes easy.
Review life stories of successful individuals and you’ll realize that none walked on a bed of roses to achieve their dreams — Arianna Huffington was rejected 36 times before she got her book published, and Mark Zuckerberg had a lot of trials and error, and even series of lawsuit, before he made the invention that’ll engrave his name into history, Facebook.
Regularly review your lifestyle and that of successful individuals. See the approaches that work best and practice more of them.
If your lifestyle doesn’t help you get more work done, do away with it and try out new approaches. Do this until you discover an ideal lifestyle that still helps you rock productivity.
3. Your Will
How bad you want to be successful? How bad do you want to lead your dream life? How bad do you want to become a better you?
Do you badly want to be successful, or do you kinda want to be successful?
Your answer to these questions is the key to your dream life.
Because if you badly want to be successful, if being successful is not an option but the only choice, if you live by the get rich or die trying saying, then, and just then, you’ll definitely give it all it takes.
If you kinda want to be successful, however, you’ll kinda suck up whatever life throws at you, and you’ll kinda not be best you can be because you’ll only kinda put in the effort.
To have the ability to unleash your inner strength, take charge of your will.
To kick harder regardless of how hopeless the situation may seem, take charge of your will.
To never see no as an answer, and to stick around till a yes is given, take charge of your will.
To sum it up, take charge of your will to unleash your full potential.
How do you take charge of your will?
- Review your dream life every now and then, envision it, feel it, and make it a must to live it.
- Bear in mind that no route is obstacle-free; if you can’t withhold the struggles in your current field, there are chances that you can’t withhold it in another field.
- Though life is filled with countless opportunities, remember that cheer hard work is what will make any opportunity work out. Instead of searching for new opportunities, seek for ways to release your full potential in your current field.
- Note that it’s now or never; though you have the strength, time and resources today, tomorrow’s not promised.
- Consider your current field as the only way out; you either succeed at it or you live a poor life. View it that way.
Over to you
Now that you know clearly what things have the most impact on your life, what steps are you going to take now?
It’s actually one of two options…
One, close the tab, lay back on the couch, order junk foods, watch the latest reality tv show, eat, get fat, and turn into a couch potato.
Two, which I’ll strongly advise you do, note down these three key aspects that have the most impact on your life, and take the best approaches to become in charge of all the aspects, and in charge of your life.
